Target Audience
This virtual meeting will be of interest to consultant
pharmacists who work with geriatric patients. Focusing
on the results of formal studies and the use of case studies,
this audioconference will assist pharmacists and nurses
in understanding the causes of psychosis in the elderly
and the latest information regarding safe and effective
therapeutic strategies for this population of the elderly.

Pierre N. Tariot, MD serves
as Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee for the
Rochester Chapter of the Alzheimers Association
and on the Geriatric Health Advisory Board of a Rochester
HMO. His research interests include characterization and
treatment of psychopathology of dementia, clinical and
basic approaches to neuroprotection, definition of the
use of cholinergic therapies, and nursing home studies.
He has served as principal investigator on numerous clinical
research studies and has lectured and published extensively
on geriatric psychiatry. He currently also serves as a
reviewer for several leading medical journals and study
committees.
Melody Ryan, Pharm D has
lectured and published extensively on the pharmacological
treatment of neurological disorders, including parkinsonism
and psychosis, and geriatric pharmacy and is an active
member of several leading pharmacy professional organizations.
She currently serves as an ad hoc reviewer for several
leading pharmacy journals and has served as co-investigator
in numerous clinical trials.
