Target
Audience
A case management approach for consultant pharmacists
which will discuss the legal, ethical and symptom issues
in dealing with patients towards the end of life.
Learning
Objectives
Upon completion of this program, participants should

common barriers to effective pain relief in long-term
care facilities. |

Identify
sentinel events due to unrelieved pain; PRN for persistent
pain; acetaminophen and other NSAIDS dose limits and
toxicity. |

inappropriate prescribing/administration of meds to
due to outdated concerns and ideas. |

current drugs, delivery systems and non-drug delivery
intervention and methods to maximize effect on pain
management in the elderly. |
